COOKBOOK AUTHOR & FOOD WRITER
Kristy Mucci
Kristy Mucci is a food writer, editor, and prop stylist based in Paris. She is a former editor at Food52 and Saveur Magazine. Her work has appeared in Food & Wine, Cherry Bombe, Simply Recipes, and more. Her first cookbook, Salad Party, was published by Chronicle Books in 2020. She is currently working on her next book.
Kristy had a generic author website that was a premade template. She wanted something that felt more personal to who she is as both an author and chef. With a diverse portfolio of work that ranges from being a cookbook author, book editor and food writer to multiple publications, we wanted to create a cohesive identity to pull together all of her work.
I developed a refined personal branding concept for both her author website and Substack that draws inspiration from traditional newspapers with modern sensibilities. The design direction incorporates personalized elements highlighting her passion for produce and seasonal ingredients but balanced to let her colorful food photography shine. Thoughtful typography, romantic old world details are used to create a visual identity that feels elevated and sophisticated. I aligned the website and Substack platform seamlessly to create a cohesive brand for her work.
